Welcome to the Quietmind Foundation
Movement and Pain Disorders · Fibromyalgia (FM) - Recent studies have shown that passive and active forms of Neurofeedback have been helpful in reducing pain and related FM symptoms, e.g., pain, mental fogginess, fatigue and irritability. Treatment includes both in-office and home-based training exercises using both thermal and EEG biofeedback techniques. Clients report significant reduction in pain, enhanced mental clarity, improved mood and energy. · Low Back Pain - As with all pain syndromes, neurofeedback has proven effective in clients finding relief from both acute and chronic musculo-skeletal pain symptoms. · Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) - Biofeedback techniques are used to help teach clients proper use patterns of their muscles along with relaxation training to reduce the pain and distress of this disorder. · Repetitive Stress Disorder- Biofeedback techniques are used to help teach clients proper use patterns of their muscles along with relaxation training and ergonomic coaching to reduce the pain and distress of this disorder. · Tension and Migraine Headaches - Biofeedback training has long been recognized as a treatment of choice for headache pain. EEG biofeedback has been shown to help clients reduce the frequency and intensity of headaches. · Temporo-mandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome- Symptoms of TM|J can often be treated with EEG biofeedback in between 8-15 sessions. Clients learn to relax their jaw muscles and use them with balanced muscular effort, thereby reducing the pain associated with imbalanced jaw muscle movement.
